Painting is my main focus and my inspiration comes from simple, everyday dilemmas as well as big, global issues. I aim to arouse the interest of the beholder by conveying thoughts and reflections and by putting their fantasy in motion. My paintings are often characterized by an undertone of sarcasm and humour. I seek unexpected meetings and, at the same time, I process my own questions at issue. Sometimes historical references are mixed with contemporary expressions and current phenomena. In my paintings well-known centuries-old characters often appear in new contexts or shapes.

I was born in Jakobstad in 1967 but was raised in Arvika, Sweden. In 1989 I moved back to my place of birth and still live and work here.
